A little gali in Ranthambore, 3 km from the V Resorts camp, has a tribal shop. Entering it you are transported to a world of hand block prints, malmal cotton, soothing indigo, sea greens and the quintessential bright red and orange Rajasthan is associated with.
A small hut in Sayra village, a few kilometres from V Resorts in Ranakpur, has a multitude of geometric, traditional as well as contemporary daris. The weavers are hard at work here churning out varieties to be sent to the stores and shops in the cities.
Sikkim is known for its curios and masks and its Dragon jewellery designs; Bhedaghat, near Jabalpur, has spectacular marble statues; Bandhavgarh is a repository of rare Gond art. Many villagers in the jungles of Madhya Pradesh are Gond artists. Our resorts in each of these places facilitate local shopping experiences.
Rich paithani sarees are woven in centres near our resort in Mhaismal and mojris that are now adorning even New York's catwalks are hand made in Rajasthan, close to a V Resorts property. Then there are jams made with apricots plucked from our resort gardens.
