V Resorts Sunshine Courtyard Shoghi

Just about 20 km from Shimla and a few kms on the outskirts of Shoghi awaits a holistic getaway at V Resorts Sunshine Courtyard Shoghi. Being located in the countryside amidst Himalayan foothills, the resort is gifted with the perfect balance of natural harmony and memorable experiences. As a result, this is a perfect retreat for a well-heeled traveller looking to skip the usual tourist crowd of Shimla, and guests looking to add a new destination and its vivid, unique experiences to their already long offbeat list.
Live Shoghi like a local- go on treks, visit the small but wonderfully located temples, participate in local rural life and delve into local cuisine. Or catch your ragged city breath with some much needed unwinding on the resort itself- enjoy the enamoing night sky, play one of the many outdoor and indoor games here, lay back and read in the organic garden, or have an evening cookout the local way on a chulha.
While most resorts in India would do well to either provide a premium stay or an authentic holiday experience, V Resorts Sunshine Courtyard is of the rare breed that offer both.

Local Tour

The famed Tara Devi temple is located between Shoghi and Shimla on the main Kalka-Shimla highway. At a distance of 12 kilometers from the resort, the temple is located on a hill of the same name and offers majestic views of the foothills and the countryside with a backdrop of snow-capped Himalayan peaks.

We’re not about to let you come so close and miss out visiting Shimla however ‘mainstream’ it may be or however you're preferences. About a day’s visit here is a good enough time to visit the major attractions like Viceregal Lodge, the Army Heritage Museum and some great old-fashioned spots like the Gaiety Cinema on the Mall Road and the many old bookshops in the markets here.

There are ten deluxe rooms on the resort, six on the ground floor and the other four on the first floor. While the pleasant weather rules out requirements of air conditioning, the rooms are equipped with all modern amenities including tea-coffee makers, toiletries, bath linen, HD televisions with satellite channels and fans, if you ever require them.

Activity Area

The activity zone, a combination of proper courts for outdoor sports, and an adjoining indoor activity area, could easily take up your whole day if you don’t pay attention. Play basketball on the half-court, football on the mini-field, or play cricket or badminton in the open lawn. Or go for archery if you’re feeling adventurous. Indoors, you can play, chess, carom, cards or table tennis on an interesting half-table.

The restaurant in the resort is capable of seating 50 guests at the same time. While North Indian, Chinese and Continental fare is available here, the specialities to enjoy are the local delicacies like madra, dahi chicken, kaddu ka khatta prepared by the talented chef.

Shoghi, about fifteen kilometres from Shimla, is a small picturesque hill-station that has only recently caught the attention of the average Indian traveller. Often overlooked in favour of the hugely popular Shimla, Shoghi offers sublime views of the Himalayan foothills around it, and an advantage of solitude owing to its relative anonymity. Before being a tourist spot, it has been well known for production of delectable fruit products, including jams, marmalades and many varieties of fruit beers. Now it is also a hub of adventure enthusiasts, with activities like rock climbing, rappelling, valley crossing and camping, and as a temple town, with many religiously significant Hindu temples in the town itself or nearby.
