At V Resorts Mangrove Retreat Sundarbans, taking our guests on an unforgettable journey through this bewitching mangrove territory is only part of what we do.
We are committed to preserving the delicate balance between man and nature that has existed in these parts since centuries, but now is being threatened by rapid development and climate change.
We have renovated schools and ferry ghats and built a 400m river-side embankment in Jamespore. We also run a monthly medical camp with the help of Lions Club and Rotary Club. V Resorts Mangrove Retreat  Sundarbans has taken part in a disaster management program in Satjalia Island, supplying food, water, clothes, medicines and doctors.

The Sundarbans is an extraordinary but fragile delta ecosystem comprising estuarine and intertidal areas sprawled across 10,000 sq km along the India-Bangladesh border. Abounding in biodiversity and famed for its Royal Bengal Tiger, this mangrove-rich zone in the Bengal Basin formed by the convergence of the Ganga, Brahmaputra and Mehgna rivers supports a wide variety of flora and fauna.

The Sundarbans is home to more than 3.5 million people. Most of the locals here are engaged in fishing, woodcutting or farmering. This ancient mangrove delta is a major source of forest produce including non-wood forest products such as honey and thatching material. The tidal lands and waterways are critical to the survival of the ecosystem, and efforts are underway to preserve this unique mix of land, water and mangrove.
