V Resorts Kotagiri

A retreat for nature and solitude lovers alike, V Resorts Kotagiri is a charming little property on a hillock surrounded by acres and acres of tea estates. While most Kotagiri resorts are situated bang in the middle of the town, our resort is located at a comfortable distance from all the bustle, on the outskirts of the town. This lends it a peaceful appeal, making it one of the best places to stay in Kotagiri.
While V Resorts Kotagiri, with its lush tea gardens, rolling hills and their valleys, is the ideal setting to enjoy natural beauty and the ever-pleasant Kotagiri climate, it is a great place to stay for travellers visiting Ooty and Coonoor too. These towns, being two of the most popular hill stations in South India, attract a deluge of tourists round the year. While this is good for business, it ruins the experience for travellers looking to enjoy these destinations without the constant crowds and bustle. Located at an optimum distance between Kotagiri, Ooty and Coonoor, our property affords an unadulterated experience of these places, with nothing to ruin it for you.
Visit the many tea gardens around the resort, watch tea being made in the tea factories nearby, or just relax around a bonfire or under the gazebo. If you’d like to travel more, head to the Doddabetta Mountain, the highest peak in the Nilgiris, and survey the entire region from the ‘telescope house’ at the top; visit Catherine Waterfalls and Wellington Lake, the latter of which is also a famous army cantt. Or head to Coonoor or Ooty. Either way, you’ll never run out of things to do in Kotagiri, at V Resorts Kotagiri.

Local Tour

One of the foremost hill destinations in South India, Ooty has a lot to choose from. There is the Government Botanical Gardens, spread over 22 hectares, with more than a thousand species of plants, shrubs, ferns, trees and bonsai. Then there are Ooty & Pykara lakes, both great places for boating (the former even has a well-known boat house). You may choose to explore the colonial-era buildings. But do take a ride on the Nilgiri Mountain Railways, a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with Darjeeling’s toy trains.

One of the foremost military cantontments in the country with a distinguished Defence Services College, Wellington is a great place for a day tour, too. With colonial-style cafes, the captivating Wellington lake and lush green views of the Nilgiris, the place is a pure delight to the senses.

V Resorts Kotagiri has 4 well-furnished rooms. Two of these are Luxury Rooms, on the ground floor, while the other two, located on the first floor, are Wooden Cottages. All the rooms offer great views of the Nilgiri hills & valleys and tea estates. The wooden cottages, specifically, offer exceptional views of the sunrise.

Activity-cum-Dining Area

There is an activity-cum-dining area on the ground floor of the resort. The area is equipped for 5 to 6 guests to dine at a time, and has arrangements for indoor games like chess, carom, etc. You may also choose to watch TV here, if you're so inclined.

Kotagiri, a perennially offbeat hill station, is actually one of the oldest hill stations in Tamil Nadu. While its name literally means ‘mountains of the Kotas’, since the Nilgiris have traditionally been the abode of the indigenous tribes, the place has reinvented itself economically and tourism-wise, with its numerous tea estates and factories, and the many sightseeing opprtunities nearby. One should visit here for a quiet hill vacation, surrounded by pristine natural beauty, which is only enhanced by the pleasant Kotagiri climate all year round. Kotagiri to Ooty is a short distance, so is Kotagiri to Coonoor, making it an ideal stopover for travellers looking to visit these places while avoiding the overwrought tourist crowd there.
