Jageshwar is a quiet spiritual town that is currently home to nearly 124 temples, many of which are now being preserved by the Archaeological Survey of India. This town is also believed to carry one of the Nagesh Jyotirlinga which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. In addition, this town is surrounded by thick deodar forests, giving it a gorgeous green cover that attracts tourists from all over the country.

During your stay here, we recommend you book a cycle from the resort (check for availability before hand) and head out the temples which are located around 3-4 kms from the resort. Once you have paid your respect at the temple and admired its architecture, you can choose to come to the resort for lunch or head further to Almora. Another highly recommended activity here is trekking  as there are multiple possibilities here - from the long trek till Almora or shorter Braj Jageshwar (covers a distance of 3 kms), you can choose one depending on your interest, time and stamina.

If you have more time, then you can visit the Binsar Wildlife Park, which is located 49.8 kms from the resort (drive time: 1 hour 43 minutes). With its moss-covered trees, orchestra of cicadas, and abundance of birdlife, it is a true treat for wildlife enthusiasts.

V Tip

Although Jageshwar is a quiet town, it truly comes alive during the Shivratri Mela (held during spring) and Jageshwar Monsoon Festival (held in August). The latter is more famous and bigger, as far more people attend it, so make sure you head here during this period, as it is a good time to get acquainted with the local culture and customs of the region.
