So head out, jump on this wagon {or rather this raft}, and lose yourselves in the exhilaration of navigating the waters. Rafting expeditions in Kullu generally start at Pirdi and ends at Jhiri, which is generally a 14 km strectch. These expeditions are generally offered by operators at Pirdi, near Kullu, where a water sports centre has been set up to provide enthusuiasts with one place to meet all their rafting requirements. Additionally, The Mountaineering Institute of Allied Sports in Manali arranges for a two week kayaking trip on Beas river in October, ideal for both beginners and amatuers. Paragliding: If you have ever dreamed of flying like a bird, paragliding is just for you. Plus, paragliding is a great way for you to enjoy the majestic views of the mountain, while giving you the perfect adrenaline rush as well.  An average flight lasts anywhere between 15 – 35 minutes, depending on weather conditions. In fact, we recommend checking the forecast to make sure your paragliding plans are safe from rain.

Once you are done soaking in the adventure, you can visit the nearby temples like the Bijli Mahadev Temple (dedicated to Lord Shiva, this temple offers majestic views of the nearby mountains and residential houses in the valley, and is famous for the legend behind its Shiva Lingam), the Great Himalayan Park (established in 1984 and is home to more than 375 types of animals, birds and insects), and the Prashar Lake which is located only two hours away from Kullu.
