For those who like hidden gems

Igatpuri is small hill station located in the Nashik district of Maharashtra and about 130kms from Mumbai. Nestled at an altitude of 1,900 feet in the Western Ghats, Igatpuri is an escapade from the hectic city life. The place has retained its natural beauty over the years and offers picturesque views with cascading waterfalls and dense forests. It also has some of the highest peaks of the Sahyadri range, which makes it a perfect destination for trekking and hiking. If you’re looking for a spiritual retreat, then visit the Vipassana Meditation academy, a well- known retreat for spiritual healing. The other major attractions here are the Tringalwadi Fort, Bhatsa River Valley and Arthur Lake. Igatpuri is beautifully decorated during festivals such as Ramnavami (March), Diwali (October), and Holi (February/ March).

Here are some places that merit a visit in this place.

Bhatsa River Valley, Igatpuri - Bhatsa River Valley is one of the most popular spots in Igatpuri and lies in the basin of the majestic Bhatsa River. Located at the end of the Thal Ghat, this place is quite rich in picturesque vegetation and has some beautiful rock formations. Visit this place to calm your mind and rejuvenate yourself by soaking in the pristine beauty of this place. You can also visit the Ghatandevi Mandir which is dedicated to the Ghat goddess.

Camel Valley - A favourite among nature lovers, Camel Valley is located a few kms ahead of the Bhatsa river valley. The main attraction of this destination are the cascading waterfalls. During the monsoons the view of the waterfalls with the backdrop of lush greenery is a sight to behold. Once you’re there, you also have the option to try adventure sports such as river rafting and river crossing. A visit to this valley will surely make you feel rejuvenated.

Tringalwadi Fort- The Tringalwadi Fort in Igatpuri is an architectural marvel and is situated at an altitude of 3000 ft above sea level. The view is worth it once you reach the top of the fort.
