Boosts local economies

Hire and train local

V Resorts hires locally and boosts local economies

Involving the local community in various ways is a key part of the V Resorts philosophy. The staff is always hired from among local residents. The idea behind these local hirings is to develop skills among community members (this is also done at our special training centre in Delhi, where an expert professional team imparts the relevant industry skills).

The range of experiences and activities planned for our guests also gives a leg up to the community's development. To give an example, after V Resorts Sattal was set up in Uttarakhand's Nainital district, the incomes of the local boatmen more than doubled! In the words of a boatman, Pawan Kumar, “Since V Resorts came up in Sattal, many guests come to this area, and this has benefited us immensely.”
Close to V Resorts Rajaji National Park is an ashram and an ayurvedic healing centre. The ashram provides shelter to the children of leprosy patients. The yoga teacher from the ashram often visits our resort and provides ayurvedic massages and conducts yoga training, thus boosting the income of the ashram.

Similarly, as part of its commitment to maintain the green cover of the ecologically sensitive zone it is located in, V Resorts Sariska reaches out to the local community, providing residents employment at the resort.

At V Resorts Queen Meadows Ranikhet too, local staff is trained and provided much needed employment. In our own small way, we give locals who would have otherwise migrated to the city meaningful reasons to stay in their village homes.
In several destinations (such as Bhimtal and Pench) we engage local naturalists to take guests on tours to the jungle or wooded trails.

Unlike other chains, we only buy local food and often tie up directly with farmers for their produce. Some of the produce is packaged and sold directly to customers. We partner with local vendors to make delicious products such as jams and chutneys, which are then sold at our in-house resort stores. Farmers not only enjoy a higher margin for their goods but also conduct popular farm tours for our guests!
