Once an English army cantonment, the place is known to have been preferred by many renowned poets and writers including Rabindranath Tagore himself who established his ashram and even composed some of his pieces there. Best time to visit:

Ramgarh enjoys a cool and pleasant weather during most of the year except from October to February when the weather only favours the bold and adventurous travellers who don’t mind the temperature going under the meter.

The best time to visit Ramgarh is from April to June as one can escape to this place with the purpose of beating the heat in the best possible way.

During the monsoons, the place looks much livelier and greener due to the fresh vegetation that grows on the fruit belt but do remember to pack your raincoats and umbrellas if you don’t want to stay indoor during this time.

Food in Ramgarh
The cuisine of Ramgarh is the simple, nutritious and ultra -savoury. A regular Kumaoni meal is considered incomplete without lentils and homemade chutney.
