Just 265 kms away from Delhi, and 56 kms before Nainital lies the hidden gem, V Resorts Kotabagh, the perfect city break for anyone looking to escape without much notice.
What’s the buzz?
A long, winding road takes you to V Resorts Kotabagh, practically hidden away, with only a small village nearby. What really sets this destination apart is the Sitavani forest directly in front of it. Step out of your cottage, down the lawn, cross the riverbed and walk into the forest, it’s as simple as that.
Ask our manager to guide you, and you can make your way to the little-known Sita temple hidden within. People from the village still claim this is the only temple in the world dedicated to Sita, but we suggest you go see for yourself.
Temple and forest walks not your thing? Try eating dinner in a mud-pit, maybe relax by the bonfire, or just grab lunch on the river bed.
What should you know?
Although this resort sits on the absolute outskirts of Corbett National Park, visitors should know that this is more suited for those looking to just unwind and relax. No early morning safaris here! Instead, walk over the riverbed into the forest beyond and explore away.
Or, pick up those binoculars and head up to the birdwatching machan (in fact, you should probably have your breakfast up there too.)
How do I get there?
We suggest driving down if you’re in and around the capital; the roads are nice and the journey is quick. Otherwise, the Ramnagar railway station is the closest. Unfortunately, you’ll have to leave your pet behind since this is a wildlife area.
