Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh
Tucked away at North Eastern Region of India, Twang is a district in Arunachal Pradesh, sharing the border with Bhutan and Tibet. The place is known for its amazing scenic beauty, Asia’s second largest Buddhist Monastery and hosting a vibrant culture. At a height of 3500 meters above the sea-level, it is one of first regions in Himalayas to receive snowfall. It is among the less crowded snow destinations because Indians also require a special Inner Line Permit to enter here, while foreigners require a Restricted Area Permit. Nathula, Gangtok, Sikkim
Nathu La Pass was a major passage between India to Tibet but it was closed in 1962. Located 56 Kms from Gangtok, the way to this pass goes through Tsomgo Lake. It is known to be the highest motor-able roads across the globe, moving down to Chumbi Valley offering an amazing view. It is located at Indo-China Border and tourists are allowed to see Chinese Soldiers which are there at the other side of the barbed wire border. Nathu La remains closed on Monday and Tuesday for the visitors. Also the visitors require the permit to visit the place by applying to the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department through a registered and recognized Travel Agency. International Travelers are not allowed to visit this place.
Narkanda, Himachal Pradesh
At a height of 2700 meters, Narkanda is an amazing snowy destination in Himalayan Mountain Ranges. It is one of the most famous Skiing Destinations in India and famous for winter sports. Hatu Peak here offers the trekkers a rigorous route, the Tanni Jubbar Lake and Jallori Pass also attracts the visitors coming to Narkanda.
