Of late, Indian Railways has been busy amping up their game in every way possible to make a lasting impression in the passengers’ minds, and thereby create everlasting memories. Their latest move was for the railway station at Prayagraj.
What’s the buzz?
With the Kumbh Mela coming up in January 2019, the Indian Railways has taken up an interesting initiative to beautify all the railway stations of Prayagraj, a city that was formerly known as Allahabad.
In a recent flurry of tweets, the Ministry of Railways has posted the pictures of the bright and colourful paintings that are being made on the walls of Naini, one of the railway stations in Prayagraj. Drawing inspiration from the cultural richness of the country, these paintings depict some of the most prominent things, including legendary singers like Lata Mangeshkar, various dance forms and a lot more. In short, these paintings are good enough to make a global traveller acquainted with the cultural richness that India is.
What should you know?
The beautification of these railway stations as a part of Railway Minister Piyush Goyal’s station beautification plan which includes a huge number of stations across the country. Indian Railways has been working hard to make the railway stations of Prayagraj ready to welcome the huge flow of pilgrims and tourists during the Kumbh Mela. As reported by us previously, Railways is planning to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to control the crowd during the festival.
What we think?
The beautification of these railway stations is a good move and is expected to be instrumental in acquainting travellers with the cultural heritage of India.
