Why V Resorts Is The Best Upcoming Resort Chain in India

At the recently concluded Lonely Planet Travel and Lifestyle Awards, V Resorts was awarded the ‘Best Upcoming Resort Chain in India’. The announcement came as a surprise to everyone, except us.

And this has been covered by Outlook Traveller in its March 2017 edition.

Since V Resorts’ conceptualisation, we have held at our core the resolve to provide unique holiday experiences that capture India at its most diverse and colorful. We are glad that this intention to keep ‘the little India’ at our center has seeped through our whole business. Although it’s an honour to be validated for our work by none other than Lonely Planet, it’s amply clear to us that we are a lot more than a set of standardised resorts. To put it simply, we are an aggregator of Indian experiences.

Views

The essence of the V Resorts ideology is reflected in our very name. A 'V' can be symbolic of many things. It could stand for vacation, valley, village, vintage, variety, and voyage. While all of these are intrinsic to a V Resorts holiday, for us, it mainly stands for ‘views’.

All journeys, from their start to their conclusion are encapsulated in the views one comes across. At every V Resorts getaway, we have guaranteed pristine views of the destination, of the hidden charms that comprise it, of the locals immersed in their lives and of the various experiences that the place affords.

Experiences

For V Resorts, it’s not a vocation but a passion to bring to our guests the best of local Indian experiences. Some of these, like shopping for local goods and crafts at a market, visiting a native village, or enjoying the views with an outdoor meal, are signature V Resorts experiences, part of every holiday.

A majority of our activities and experiences are modelled after the destination in question. For example, at V Resorts Nashik, our guests can head on a vineyard tour and a wine-tasting session. At V Resorts Ramgarh, one can tour a tea garden, and at an added premium, stay at a Writers’ Cottage which previously hosted the likes of Rabindranath Tagore and poet Mahadevi Verma. What’s amusing is, all these experiences mentioned above don’t even scratch the surface of all that we offer. From witnessing the traditional Chhau dance in a Bengali tribal village, to bamboo shopping near Tadoba National Park, the things you can do at V Resorts range as far and wide as India itself.

Destinations

We, at V Resorts, believe that the real India resides in its villages and its obscure hills, in its lost heritage and its forests. To give our guests a taste of this authentic India, recognizing and nurturing new Indian destinations is a key part of our identity.

Orchha

While we are present at the usual tourist haunts like Udaipur, Kullu and Ladakh, some of the most successful V Resorts are located in places previously absent from the tourist map, like Orchha, Sattal and Rajaji National Park.

We have made our vacations indistinguishable from the local life of the destination. At V Resorts Rajaji, we take our guests to an Ashram for kids with leper parents. At V Resorts Lharje Nubra, located beside a Buddhist monastery, we take our guests to a prayer session and tour of the monastery. From terracota and Chhau mask-making to mojris, our shopping experiences are aplenty, probably too many to mention here.

That is the V Resorts way, packaging a destination as an all-round holiday experience. And I guess this is why we work.
