Bhedaghat- A Destination Guide

Bhedaghat is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. This is a small place with a sparse local population and yet with immense natural beauty. It is located at around 20 km from Jabalpur along the river Narmada. The exquisite natural beauty that comes with the river snaking through massive and imposing marble rocks lends it a beauty that is incomparable.

As one moves along the river Narmada, one can see gigantic marble rocks on the either side of the banks. This boat ride is the matter of great pleasure for the nature lovers. These rocks have found a place in the popular culture and are amongst the few things that characterise Bhedaghat as a tourist place. Several big movies and television shows have been shot here, keeping the wonderful view of the rocks in the frame. It is said that taking a boat ride in the Narmada on a full moon night, with the marble rocks for company.

What is it famous for?

Bhedaghat is known for its exquisite natural sceneries, the Dhuandhar waterfalls and marble rocks, are the best example of the scenic beauty of this place.

How to reach?

Bhedaghat is very close to Jabalpur. It is around 28 kilometer from the main city. Thus it is often advisable to approach Jabalpur through road or railways and then simply move to Bhedaghat using any of the local conveyances.
Jabalpur is one of the prominent cities in Madhya Pradesh and thus is very well connected from all around. It also has a domestic airport by the name of Dumna Airport. There are frequent flights ‘to and from’ the major cities from here.

Best season to visit

The place is located on the coasts of Narmada, and therefore it is advisable to avoid visiting the place during the monsoon season. Other than this small period of the year, this place is perfectly suitable to take a family trip. The most wonderful time of the year to visit here is between October and April. This is the time when its natural beauty is at the peak of glory.
